A large aggregate that has been crushed, reduced, and screened to size. Usually a permanent, erosion-resistant ground cover.
Used as a form of erosion control and can be seen on large embankments, shorelines, creeks, rivers and around discharge pipes. Also used for soil stabilization, bank restoration, stonewall backing, gravity retaining walls and bridge support. Effective in erosion control, as the rock can adjust to contours along waterlines.
